Cashmere is one of the softest, warmest fibres you can put on — it’s also more delicate than the wool you’re probably used to, so it rewards a bit of extra care between cleanings.
Let it rest between wears
Cashmere fibres bounce back better if you give a sweater a day off between wears rather than reaching for the same one every day. It reduces pilling and helps it hold its shape longer.
Fold, don’t hang
Hanging a cashmere sweater on a regular hanger stretches the shoulders out of shape over time. Fold it instead and store it flat, ideally somewhere it won’t be crushed under heavier items.
Deal with pills gently
Light pilling is normal on cashmere and isn’t a sign anything’s wrong. A fabric comb or shaver, used gently, will keep it looking fresh between cleanings.
Leave the cleaning to us
When it’s time for an actual clean, cashmere generally shouldn’t go through a regular wash cycle. Send it to us as part of your Dry Cleaning order and note it’s cashmere in your Special Instructions — we’ll make sure it’s handled with the care it needs.
